We have been waiting ALL year for this day. Although we are hopeful, we're also realistic about the outcome of the game. Just hope our "Dawgs" just show up against LSU. If anything, Anna Kate looks really cute! (Thanks to Aunt Reen & YaYa for her cute t-shirt!)

Anniversaries galore...
This evening, Mike and I were invited to one of his co-worker's suprise 40th anniversary dinner. He works with Linda and she & her husband Ray celebrated 40 wonderful years together; it was very sweet their children included ALL of us at the party. Both were truly surprised, as they were expecting to attend a function for their granddaughter, not a dinner in their honor! The looks on their faces were priceless!
Another anniversay....today would have been my (Suzanna's) grandparents' 67th anniversary. We'd like to think that Mama K and Papa are celebrating it in heaven--for the first time :). I'll try to find a picture of them to post.

So it has been a busy day and even so tomorrow. We will be visiting our niece Leslie while she is in town and introduce Anna Kate to her cousin! Pictures to follow!
What a week....
What a crazy week it has been! Blogger, among lots of other things at the house, have been neglected for this past week. When Mike travels, it's a challenge for both Anna Kate and myself, not to mention, I started back teaching as well. So I really do have an excuse for not uploading some pictures of Anna Kate!
Quick update: her two bottom teeth are definitely pushing through. Her crying spells are not as frequent, but still very intense when she does get them. Thank goodness for Orajel! The other day she rolled from her tummy to her back in the crib. I put her in her crib for a moment on her back and returned to the crib--and Anna Kate was on her back! She had this really weird look, like "how did I get here?" when I found her! She hasn't completely rolled back over again, but about 80% there on her next attempt. If the crib were bigger, I think it would have happened.
If you don't see pictures in this blog, check back shortly! I hope to have a few pictures posted very soon! It is shaping up to be a busy weekend, but promise to get something posted :).

More pictures....
I have gotten some complaints that I haven't been uploading pictures lately. Well, you are right! Because of technical difficulty and user error, we can only transfer pictures from our desktop in the backroom and not my laptop. Not that it should matter to you, but that room is NOT baby friendly and with Anna Kate's *very* limited naps, I haven't had a chance to get in the back
to post these adorable pictures! So, enjoy these pictures. I hope it won't be another 3 weeks before I can get more posted :)
Not sure what gang sign she's flashing? Maybe the sign for "FEED ME?"
Daddy feeding Anna Kate her first taste of green beans..mmmmmm!
Be sure to scroll down to August 7th entry for more pictures that have been posted!!!
Holy Moly! 37 Years and Counting!
Growing up way too fast....
You know you are growing up way too fast when you get your FIRST library card!! Yes, Anna Kate was issued her VERY OWN library card today. Makes a mama proud ;P. At our local library, we have a "Mother Goose" time. Personally, I think they disguise language development skills as fun time :). We read books, sing songs and play finger puppet games. Goodness, I haven't heard many of those nursery rhymes in YEARS.
Today we saw many of our Gymboree, Mommy & Me and Walking Group friends at Mother Goose....Mason, Hannah, Sarah, Aurora and Camilla. Anna Kate had a great time! Afterwards, we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. While at lunch, Anna Kate was making a mess of her bananas and talking up a storm to anybody that would come into her view! She really is coming into her own lil personality!

This just in.....
Correction to our previous news flash: Anna Kate isn't cutting her first tooth....she's cutting her first TWO teeth! Yes, two for the price of one! The tops of her bottom two teeth are now slightly visible at the gum line, and she definitely will let you know when they are cutting :(. She continues to push her tongue and lick when someone puts their finger near her mouth. Just think, at this rate, we can cut our teething experience in half if two keep coming in at the same time!
As soon as Anna Kate cooperates, we'll post a picture of these elusive first teeth!

BREAKING News!!!
Last night, we discovered that Anna Kate's first tooth is *breaking* through the gum line. You can definitely feel the tiny ridges on her bottom gumline. She's had all the tell-tale signs for several weeks (excessive drooling, tugging at ears, constantly gnawing especially on her fist) and it's now showing why! We hope to capture this new pearly white when it makes it debut soon. If I tried to take a picture all you would get would be her tongue....when we try to look at her mouth, she tries to lick us :P. We'll keep you posted!

Just perfect!
Anna Kate had her six month well baby check up and did beautifully! Dr. W is very pleased with her progress. She continues to stay ahead of the curve with her height (yeah!!). She also her third and final shots--in this series at least--during her visit. Other that her initial cry, she did fine and even flashed a grin as we were leaving. She cooed up a storm on the drive home.
Her next visit isn't until her 9 month check up and even better....not shots at that visit! Woo hoo!

Pictures to Share...
Half a year old!
I cannot believe that today, August 7, Anna Kate turns 6 months old! It feels like it was yesterday that Mike and I was at the hospital waiting for her grand debut. I can't get over how much she has grown and come in just 25 weeks of life, and she continues to amaze me everyday.
Tomorrow, we go for our six month check up and endure the third round of this series of shots (thank goodness!). I can only imagine how long this child has gotten. From the initial looks of things, I think she's got her daddy's height. Let's just hope this burst of height will stay with her and not be short lived. We don't need any more short, er, petite people in the family! We have plenty, if you ask me :).
To catch up on where Anna Kate stands now, she is *almost* to the point where she can sit unassisted. We have about 5 or so seconds before she topples over. She now has expanded her palate to include applesauce, sweet potatoes and green beans. Anna Kate is so cute eating these solids. She now goes after the bowl if she is not fed fast enough. I'll also put the fruits into her oatmeal for a new taste and texture. Let me tell you, this child LOVES her oatmeal! Next week, bananas is on the menu :).
Oh, speaking of eating solids, Anna Kate also has a new chair...her high chair! She's still getting used to it, but overall, likes sitting up where she can see Dixie from above and the extra tray space in front of her. Anna Kate is scooting around the floor fairly quickly in her walker. I know crawling is next on the to-do list; she is practicing getting her legs under herself and is able to hold that position. Getting the head and arms up will be the next step!
